"Transfigure" Music Video

Inspiration:
This song, to this day, is one of the most powerful for me personally. Every time I play it, I realize how much I need to hear the words, to be reminded of the fact that I am helpless without the strength and grace of the Lord. “There are things about myself I cannot change alone.” The Lord waits for us to fall to our knees and surrender our imperfections to Him, willing to live our lives carrying that particular cross if it is His will. Only in such state of surrender can He truly step in and heal.

Lyrics:

~*verse one*~
It’s been a long and weary climb.
And I don’t know the reason You’ve called me to ascend this rocky mountain.
Each step I take towards You, yet another fear is overcome.
Please loosen these heavy chains that weigh me down.

~*chorus*~
Transfigure me, Lord.
There are things about myself I cannot change alone.
I want to be holy, make me white as snow.
Let me see Your glory, I want to run into Your arms.
I want to be pure for the Bridegroom of my soul.

~*verse two*~
You take my chains, these wretched rings of steel,
And give me instead a ring of purest gold. I’m my Beloved’s and He is mine.
I turn my eyes from evil, I fix them on Your face.
You who first were pierced, but now are forever glorified.

~*chorus*~
Transfigure me, Lord.
There are things about myself I cannot change alone.
I want to be holy, make me white as snow.
Let me see Your glory, I want to run into Your arms.
I want to be pure for the Bridegroom of my soul.

~*bridge*~
Pierce me with Your blinding light,
Infuse me with Your radiance,
Illuminate the depths of my heart.
Mold me into Your image,
Purge what’s not of You.
May I also be a beloved child in whom You are well-pleased.

~*chorus*~
Transfigure me, Lord.
There are things about myself I cannot change alone.
I want to be holy, make me white as snow.
Let me see Your glory, I want to run into Your arms.
I want to be pure for the Bridegroom of my soul.
