Ave Maria, Bach/Gounod, ft. Strings

This live recording of the Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod) is from Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Florida. I am the vocalist, and the string duo is Robert Radliff on the violin and Tracey Kinnunen on the viola. We make a pretty awesome team, don't we?

The Ave Maria is the words of the Hail Mary prayer, announced by the angel Gabriel to our Blessed Mother at that moment when she said yes to God, accepting the mission to become the mother of Christ and in turn the mother of all believers.

Lyrics:
Ave Maria (Hail Mary)
Gratia plena (full of grace)
Dominus tecum (the Lord is with you.)
Benedicta tu in mulieribus  (Blessed are you among women)
Et benedictus fructus ventris tui Jesus (and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.)
Sancta Maria, Sancta Maria, Maria (Holy Mary, Holy Mary, Mary),
Ora pro nobis (pray for us)
Nobis peccatoribus (us sinners)
Nunc et in hora, in hora mortis nostrae (now and at the hour, the hour of our death).
Amen, Amen.

Melody composed by Charles Gounod, set over the Prelude in C by J.S. Bach.
Words announced by the angel Gabriel to Mary, also represented by the Hail Mary prayer.

"You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)" COVER by Gabriela Frei

A friend of mine, Heather Bartlett, asked me to record this beautiful song. It's called "You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)," off of Josh Groban's album Awake. It's one of my favorite songs that he has recorded, and will forever remind me of my summer abroad.

The message is clear: never give in to despair or loneliness, because someone loves you. No matter who you are or what you have done, you are loved, so never give up.

I retain NO rights to this song. It is the property of Josh Groban and his recording label. Words & Music by Thomas Salter.

Enjoy :)

Lyrics:
Verse 1)
Don't give up: It's just the weight of the world.
When your heart's heavy, I...I will lift it for you.

Don't give up: Because you want to be heard.
If silence keeps you, I...I will break it for you.

Chorus)
Everybody wants to be understood; Well, I can hear you.
Everybody wants to be loved; Don't give up because you are loved.

Verse 2)
Don't give up: It's just the hurt that you hide
When you're lost inside, I...I will be there to find you.

Don't give up, because you want to burn bright.
If darkness blinds you, I...I will shine to guide you, I will shine to guide you.
Don't give up, because you want to burn bright.
If darkness blinds you, I...I will shine to guide you. (Chorus)

Don't give up: It's just the weight of the world.
Don't give up: because you are loved.

"Agnus Dei" by Matt Maher

Matt Maher has a beautiful arrangement of the Agnus Dei, or Lamb of God. This is a live performance of that Lamb of God from a wedding here in Florida.

Special thanks to Anders Bergmann, one of the groomsmen, for singing the duet part with me!

Lyrics:
Lamb of God (Lamb of God),
You take away (You take away)
The sin of all (the sin of all)
The world (the world).
Misere nobis (Misere nobis). -- translation: Have mercy on us. (Repeat)

Agnus Dei (Agnus Dei) -- translation: Lamb of God
You take away (You take away)
The sin of all (the sin of all)
The world (the world).
Dona nobis pacem (Dona nobis pacem). -- translation: Grant us peace.

"Love Has Come" Alleluia

This recording is from a wedding I recently sang for here in Florida. The bride and groom loved Matt Maher's song Love Has Come and wanted me to use the chorus of that song for the Alleluia in their wedding Mass. I also rewrote the Gospel Acclamation verse usually used in weddings to fit into the rhythm of the verse. Enjoy :)

Lyrics:
Chorus:
Word of God enthroned,
dwell in us forevermore;
Love has come to show the way.
Hallelujah, peace be with us,
Love has come to show the way.

Verse:
All those who now live in love are united with their God,
For they live in God and God lives in them! (Chorus)

"Love Song" Music Video

This is an original song that I wrote a few months after I began dating my husband, Jonathan. I had never dated anyone before him. I made a commitment to wait to date a person that I honestly could see myself marrying someday.  It took me until college to find that right person to start dating, but God was good to me and I married that man three years later.

I wrote "Love Song" specifically to be performed at weddings, and modeled it after the vows couples profess to each other. This is actually the short version of "Love Song." There is a third verse and final chorus. I hope to have a video up soon of the full version, but wanted you to be able to enjoy this for now.

Lyrics:
~*verse one*~
Darling, I waited this time to find you.
I looked, I searched, and still I was alone.
At the moment I least expected, God brought you to my side.
He opened my eyes to see you and you took my breath away.

~*chorus*~
Now here we are in this moment together.
You have my heart. Don’t ever doubt, I love you.
You’re my gift from God, my priceless treasure, the beloved of my heart.
And I just can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.

~*verse two*~
Darling, I say “For better, for worse” and I mean it.
I place my hand in yours, and two become one.
Though I never could have dreamed it, God fashioned me for you.
His perfect plan is realized, all my hopes and dreams came true.
We’ll face the future with our Lord and God before us.

~*chorus*~
Now here we are in this moment together.
You have my heart. Don’t ever doubt, I love you.
You’re my gift from God, my priceless treasure, the beloved of my heart.
And I just can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.

"Here I Am, Lord" Music Video

Here's a recording of a very popular church hymn, "Here I Am, Lord," performed at a wedding in Florida. I grew up with this song, as I'm sure many have. Enjoy!

Lyrics:

Verse 1)
I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin, My hand will save.
I who make the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send?

Chorus)
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, where You lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

Verse 2)
I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people’s pain.
I have wept for love of them. They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my words to them. Whom shall I send? (Chorus)

Verse 3)
I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them. My hand will save.
Fin-est bread I will provide,
Till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send? (Chorus)

"Breathe" Music Video

This is a powerful praise and worship anthem, one very dear to my heart and very loved by many. I hope you are blessed by this live rendition from a wedding.

Lyrics:

This is the air I breathe,
This is the air I breathe,
Your holy presence living in me.

This is my daily bread,
This is my daily bread,
Your very word spoken to me.

And I, I'm desperate for you.
And I, I'm I'm lost without you.

"Shout To The Lord" Music Video

A performance of "Shout To The Lord," by Darlene Zschech, at a wedding I sang for.

I love that this song seems to transcend age, denomination, ethnicity... If  you love Jesus, it's a pretty strong bet that you know this fabulous praise and worship hymn.

I composed a second verse specific to weddings. Here are the words:

"This bridegroom, this lovely bride, Lord help them love like You. All of their days, together they'll praise and tell the world about Your love. Lord, You brought them to each other, make them each day more like You. As they go forth, united as one, let them never cease to worship You!"

All glory to God.

Lyrics:
My Jesus, My Savior,
Lord, there is none like You;
All of my days I want to praise the wonders of Your mighty love.

My comfort, my shelter,
Tower of refuge and strength;
Let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship You.

Shout to the Lord, all the earth, Let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King;
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands,
Forever I'll love You, forever I'll stand,
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.

"How Great is Our God" Music Video

Another live video from the wedding I just sang for here in Florida. Such a marvelous experience. I was honored to contribute to the beauty of the day, and was inspired by the bride and groom, and their powerful testament to the love of God.

This is a video of "How Great is Our God," by Chris Tomlins. Another powerful praise and worship anthem, that brings back great memories of Festivals of Praise at Franciscan University.

I hope you enjoy this pure piano rendition.

Lyrics:

Verse 1:
The splendor of a King, clothed in majesty,
Let all the earth rejoice, all the earth rejoice.
He wraps himself in light, and darkness tries to hide.
It trembles at his voice, trembles at his voice.

CHORUS:
How great is our God, sing with me How great is our God,
And all will see how great, how great is our God.

Verse 2:
And age to age He stands, and time is in His Hands,
Beginning and the End, Beginning and the End.
The Godhead, three in one, Father, Spirit, Son,
The Lion and the Lamb, the Lion and the Lamb. (Chorus)

Bridge:
Name above all names, You are worthy of all praise,
My heart will sing how great is our God.

"Blessed Be Your Name" Music Video

I just sang for a lovely wedding here in Florida, and wanted to share some of the videos from that event with you.

This video features the praise and worship song, "Blessed Be Your Name," by Matt Redman. This is one of my all-time favorite praise and worship songs songs period. Everything about it makes me want to throw my hands up in the air in a gesture of joyful surrender, and simply exult in the Lord.  I hope that you enjoy it too. Feel free to dance around, sing along, just praise God and rejoice in life abundantly.

God bless you!

Lyrics:

~*verse one*~
Blessed Be Your Name in the land that is plentiful,
Where Your streams of abundance flow, Blessed be Your name.
Blessed Be Your name when I'm found in the desert place,
Though I walk through the wilderness, Blessed Be Your name.

Every blessing You pour out I'll turn back to praise.
When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say:

~*chorus*~
Blessed be the name of the Lord, Blessed be Your name.
Blessed be the name of the Lord, Blessed be Your glorious name.
~*verse two*~
Blessed be Your name when the sun's shining down on me.
When the world's 'all as it should be,' blessed be Your name.

Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering,
Though there's pain in the offering, Blessed be Your name. (bridge and chorus)

You give and take away, You give and take away.
My heart will choose to say, Lord, blessed be Your name.

"Come (A Prayer Of Hope)" Music Video

I wrote this song specifically for funerals, to be a song of consolation, of encouragement, of return to the Lord. Through His love and strength alone do we conquer adversity and emerge from trial.

I welcome your thoughts. It's a brand new song, still "under construction." This is actually a short version, as there were only a few people at this funeral. I hope you enjoy it.

Lyrics:

Come (A Prayer Of Hope)
June 25, 2010

~*verse one*~
There is no pain He has not felt,
No sadness He doesn’t know; He holds all your tears in His hand.
Your cross, He carries with you, the heavy load you bear.
Give it all to Him. Give it all to Him. Give it all to Him:
You do not walk alone.

~*chorus*~
Come to Him, you who labor and are tired.
Come to Him, you with sorrows you can’t bear.
Come into His presence, feel His tender love.
Come, His love will carry you.

~*bridge*~
He lifts us from the flood that threatens us.
He shelters us from the weapons of our foe.
He heals us with His tender touch of mercy.

He loves us more than we could ever know.
He loves us more than we could ever know.
He loves us more than we could ever know.

~*chorus*~
Come to Him. Come to Him.
Come to Him, you who labor and are tired.
Come to Him, you with sorrows you can’t bear.
Come into His presence, feel His love. Come, His love will carry you.

"The Present Moment" Video

Inspiration:
I wrote this song as a reminder to myself not to worry and be fearful about the future. I have a tendency to be a planner, to have control over my environment and circumstances. The song is a reminder that my call as a follower of Christ is to surrender to His will and seek His plan for my life. Only then, in such a posture of surrender, can I be set free from fear and anxiety about the future, and trust that He has a plan for my life. He will bring to fruition His will for me, so long as I strive to discern and follow His plan for me.

Lyrics:
~verse one~
Jesus, I need You. Some days, I feel so afraid.
I can see so many obstacles ahead: do You see them, Lord?
Jesus, forgive me. Once again, I took my eyes off of You.
I get so lost in my fear of the future that I miss You right now.

~chorus~
Help me to find You in the present moment.
That’s all I know I have.
I surrender my fear and I cling to Your promise
That come what may, You’ll be with me. Come what may, You’ll be with me.
Please Lord, give me the grace to give you all my tomorrows and live in today.

~verse two~
Jesus, I need Your strength to be all that I can be right now.
I choose to leave my future in Your hands, ‘cause there’s work to be done right now.
Jesus, I trust in You. I realize each day is a gift.
I won’t take for granted that I have tomorrow.
Instead, help me to live as if today were the last day I had.

~chorus~
Help me to find You in the present moment.
That’s all I know I have.
I surrender my fear and I cling to Your promise
That come what may, You’ll be with me.

Help me to trust, to embrace every moment,
To seek Your will for me right now.
I surrender my life and I cling to Your promise
That You have a plan for me, You have a plan for me.
That You have a plan for me, that You have a plan for me.
So Lord with Your grace, I’ll give You all my tomorrows and live in today.

"Ave Maria" - Live from the Holy Land

This version of the Ave Maria is the Bach Gounod version. I don't have the entire song recorded, as the person doing the recorded wasn't able to start right at the beginning. This video was recorded at the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, Israel. Enjoy!

This second version of the Ave Maria is the more well-known Schubert version. Again, I don't have the entire song recorded, but I hope you get a taste for my personal singing of this beloved hymn. This recording took place at St. Anne's Church in Jerusalem, Israel.

"Peace in Jesus" Video

Lyrics:

 ~*verse one*~
It’s a brand new day and I’m smiling. You ask me why I’m so joyful.
I say to you, “it’s nothing of this world that’s putting this smile on my face.”

~*chorus one*~
I have found my peace in Jesus. In the quiet, I have heard His voice.
I never have to fear again because I feel His presence.
He loves me unconditionally, and that’s why I smile.

~*verse two*~
You tell me there’s no way He’ll ever accept you,
That there’s too much that you’ve done to make Him cry.
But I’m telling you now, He’ll never abandon you.
He’s constantly holding out His hand to set free.
No matter what you’ve done, He’s still calling out your name.
He came to this earth and He died so you could live.

~*chorus two*~
You can find your peace in Jesus. In the quiet, you can hear His voice.
You never have to fear again. You too can feel His presence.
He loves you unconditionally…so now you know:

I have found my peace in Jesus. In the quiet, I have heard His voice.
I never have to fear again because I feel His presence.
He loves me unconditionally, and that’s why I smile.

"L-O-V-E" Live from Jamaica

While Jonathan and I were on our honeymoon, we visited the resort's piano bar a few times. We very much enjoyed the fun atmosphere and the fantastic pianist. I had the pleasure of singing "L-O-V-E" to a very spirited accompaniment, and am glad finally to be able to upload the video. So here it is: "L-O-V-E" live from the piano bar of Sandals Ocho Rios in Jamaica!

Words by Milt Gabler and music by Bert Kaempfer

"L is for the way you look at me.
O is for the only one I see.
 V is very, very extraordinary.
E is even more than anyone that you adore can.

Love is all that I can give to you.
Love is more than just a game for two.
Two in love can make it.
Here's my heart and please don't break it.
Love was made for me and you."
